STORYBOARDS AND BEHIND THE SCENES

Thank you for visiting my story portfolio! Please find below my storyboards, life and gesture drawings and personal art.

Street Lights: oct 2022

"Street Lights" is my most ambitious animation that Ive created staring Cappy the Rabbit. Featuring footage from Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood and Santa Monica, I was able to capture a hybrid mix of animation and real life. Since I lived in downtown LA for two years, this animation is important to me as it reminds me of my routes to several landmarks in the area.

When creating the storyboard for this film, I knew that I wanted to have footage for this film and not a defined background like my previous cartoons. I had to have a confident idea of what the shot would look like and where exactly the footage would have to be taken. There were a couple reshoots to match the storyboard, but that's exactly why I made the storyboard in the first place!

Through The Fire: Feb 2021

2021 University of missouri VADS PEOPLES CHOICE WINNER!!

"Through The Fire" is part two of A House is Not A Home by Luther Vandross which was an animation made Valentines day 2020. This animation stars Cali the Rabbit and her girlfriends as they surprise Cappy by performing "Though the Fire". In this animation, I wanted to express Cali and Cappy's complimentary personalities with their body language and emotions.

This animation was created in under one month for a class project. The task was to create any type of media in a certain amount of time for submission to a Video Art and Design contest for the University of Missouri. As a challenge, I wanted to create a full length cartoon in about 3 weeks in time for release on Valentines Day. This animation set a record for the showcase receiving over 1,300 votes for the prize of Peoples Choice which had never been accomplished in previous years of the showcase. I am extremely blessed to have the amount of support I have and to set a footprint in the VADs showcase.

A few changes were made in this film compared to its storyboard as in one of the scenes both Cappy and Cali do separate dances. I decided to make them do the same dance in the end. This dance is a reference to a specific dance Mickey and Minnie perform in one of Walt Disneys cartoons.

GOTTA BLAST: 2020-2021

"GOTTA BLAST" is my most ambitious animation that I created staring Cappy the Rabbit. Pierre Bourne, a Grammy award winning rapper and the artist of the title song, has actually seen and expressed how he loved the visuals for this animation. We both have kept in contact ever since! I knew that in this animation, I wanted to feature more action, emotion, and sequences than ever before. As you can see in some of these pictures, not only is it important to get Cappy's design and expression right, but it is also important for me to begin fleshing out Cappy's world around him!

When creating the storyboard for this film, I really wanted to focus on making sure every visual detail was conveyed exactly how I imagined it would be. I added arrows to convey which asset is moving in the frame and this helped a lot in the end! This storyboard is seven pages but could pass off as a full comic; its that detailed!

STORYBOARDS OF UNRELEASED ANIMATIONS

ANTIDOTE - Travis Scott

"Antidote" was a concept I had planned out all the way back in my sophomore year of high school. It wasn't until my sophomore year in college I finally decided to draw it out and concept it as a storyboard. This is also my first official stab at trying out storyboarding.

One day I hope to bring this animation to the screen, however the true scope I have for this animation is far beyond what one person can accomplish in a reasonable amount of time.
